Description
Kingspan Thermaroof TR24 130 mm Flat Roof PIR Insulation Board (1200 mm × 600 mm, Pack of 3 - 2.16 m²)
Product Overview
Kingspan Thermaroof TR24 130 mm (1200 mm × 600 mm) Flat Roof PIR Insulation Board is a high‑performance rigid thermoset polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation board specifically designed for use in flat roof applications with bituminous waterproofing. Suitable for both new‑build and refurbishment projects, this insulation board delivers outstanding thermal performance, durability, and compatibility with torch‑applied, partially bonded multi‑layer bituminous waterproofing systems.
Key Features & Benefits
- High-performance rigid PIR core with a low thermal conductivity of 0.024 W/m·K for 130 mm thickness, ensuring superior insulation efficiency and reduced heat loss.
- Standard 1200 × 600 mm board dimensions minimise joints and enable faster installation.
- Compatible with most torch‑applied, partially bonded multi‑layer bituminous waterproofing systems for flat roofs.
- Facings: Upper surface – bitumen‑coated glass tissue with thermofusible polypropylene fleece; lower surface – mineralised glass tissue, both autohesively bonded to the PIR core.
- Excellent water‑vapour resistivity (greater than 300 MN·s/g), ideal for warm roof applications.
- High compressive strength (typically exceeds 150 kPa at 10% compression) providing robust, load‑bearing performance.
- Retains thermal and structural integrity for the lifetime of the building when correctly installed.
- Produced under accredited ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001 management systems for quality, environment, and energy performance.
Applications / Typical Uses
- Designed for insulating flat roofs in residential, commercial, industrial, and public buildings.
- Intended for use beneath partially bonded, torch‑applied bituminous waterproof membranes.
- Suitable for both new‑build and refurbishment applications where a high level of thermal insulation is required.
- Can be used over concrete, metal, or timber decks as part of a warm‑roof construction.
Installation & Handling
- Store insulation boards flat, on a clean, dry, and level surface, and keep covered until installation.
- Protect from weather exposure and moisture ingress; do not use boards that have become wet or damaged.
- Lay boards in a staggered (break‑bonded) pattern with lightly butted joints to reduce thermal bridging.
- Fix mechanically or bond using hot bitumen or appropriate adhesive, depending on the roof deck and waterproofing system design.
- Always install over a suitable vapour control layer to prevent condensation and maintain system integrity.
- Apply waterproofing membranes strictly in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions — do not torch directly onto the insulation facing.
- Insulate abutments, upstands, and penetrations to the same thickness as the roof insulation to avoid cold bridging.
Compliance & Certification
- Manufactured to BS EN 13165:2012 + A2:2016 for factory‑made rigid PIR insulation boards.
- Declared thermal conductivity: 0.024 W/m·K for 130 mm thickness.
- Reaction to fire classification: Euroclass F (System 4 AVCP).
- Supplied with UK Declaration of Performance (DoP) confirming essential product characteristics and compliance with relevant standards.
- Produced in accordance with ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environment), ISO 45001 (Health & Safety), and ISO 50001 (Energy Management) certifications.
