Description
Kingspan Thermaroof TR24 120 mm Flat Roof PIR Insulation Board (1200 mm × 600 mm, Pack of 4 - 2.88 m²)
Product Overview
Kingspan Thermaroof TR24 120 mm (1200 mm × 600 mm) Flat Roof PIR Insulation Board is a high‑performance rigid thermoset polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation board designed for use in flat roof applications, including new‑build and refurbishment projects. Specifically developed for compatibility with torch‑applied, partially bonded multi‑layer bituminous waterproofing systems, this insulation board combines excellent thermal performance with durability and ease of installation.
Key Features & Benefits
- High-performance rigid PIR core with an exceptionally low thermal conductivity of 0.024 W/m·K for 120 mm thickness, providing superior insulation performance.
- Standard 1200 × 600 mm board size minimises joints and speeds up installation.
- Fully compatible with torch‑applied, partially bonded multi‑layer bituminous waterproofing systems.
- Facings: Upper surface – bitumen‑coated glass tissue with thermofusible polypropylene fleece; lower surface – mineralised glass tissue, autohesively bonded to the insulation core.
- Excellent water‑vapour resistivity (greater than 300 MN·s/g), making it suitable for warm roof applications.
- High compressive strength (typically exceeds 150 kPa at 10% compression), ensuring long‑term structural stability.
- Long‑lasting performance for the service life of the roof when correctly installed.
- Manufactured under ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001 accredited management systems for quality and sustainability.
Applications / Typical Uses
- Ideal for insulating flat roofs in residential, commercial, industrial, and public buildings.
- Designed for use beneath partially bonded torch‑applied bituminous waterproof membranes.
- Suitable for both new‑build and refurbishment roof projects.
- Can be installed over metal, concrete or timber roof decks as part of a warm‑roof build‑up.
Installation & Handling
- Store the insulation boards flat on a clean, dry and level surface; keep covered and protected from weather and moisture before installation.
- Do not use boards that have been damaged or become wet.
- Lay the insulation in a staggered (break‑bonded) pattern with lightly butted joints to reduce cold bridging.
- Fix mechanically or bond using hot bitumen or suitable adhesive, depending on the deck type and system design.
- Install over an appropriate vapour control layer or sealed deck; carry out condensation risk analysis as required.
- Apply waterproofing membrane strictly according to the manufacturer’s instructions — do not torch directly onto the PIR insulation.
- Ensure all upstands, abutments and penetrations are insulated to the same thickness to minimise heat loss.
Compliance & Certification
- Manufactured to BS EN 13165:2012 + A2:2016 for factory‑made PIR insulation boards.
- Declared thermal conductivity: 0.024 W/m·K for 120 mm thickness.
- Reaction to fire classification: Euroclass F (System 4 AVCP).
- Supplied with UK Declaration of Performance (DoP) detailing product characteristics and performance.
- Produced in compliance with ISO certified quality, environmental, health & safety, and energy management standards.
