Description
Key Features & Benefits
- Flexi-Edge Technology: Compressible edge provides a secure friction-fit between studs/joists.
- Thermal Conductivity: 0.038 W/m·K.
- Acoustic Absorption: Optimised fibre structure reduces sound transmission and dampens vibration.
- Euroclass A1 Non-Combustible: Maximum fire-safety rating under EN 13501-1.
- Dimensional Stability: Retains shape and thickness for the building’s lifetime; will not slump.
- Water Repellent: Stone wool fibres resist moisture while remaining vapour-permeable.
- Environmentally Produced: Made under ISO 14001 & ISO 9001; contains no harmful blowing agents.
Applications / Typical Uses
- Internal partitions (timber or metal stud).
- Separating / party walls compliant with acoustic requirements.
- Intermediate, suspended and separating floors.
- Pitched roofs and rafter-level insulation.
- Timber or steel external framed wall systems.
- New builds, refurbishments, and upgrade works.
Installation & Handling
- Select slab size to suit standard centres (e.g., 600 mm or 400 mm).
- Insert slabs with Flexi-Edge against the stud to create a friction-fit.
- Install only onto dry, structurally sound substrates.
- Cut with long-blade knife if needed; avoid compressing slabs as this reduces performance.
- Use PPE: gloves, eye protection, and mask in low-ventilated areas.
- Follow ROCKWOOL’s installation guidance to achieve declared thermal, acoustic & fire performance.
Compliance & Certification
- EN 13162:2012 + A1:2015 – Mineral wool insulation for buildings.
- Reaction to Fire: Euroclass A1 (EN 13501-1).
- Manufacturing Standards: ISO 9001 Quality Management & ISO 14001 Environmental Management.
- Suitable for use in systems requiring fire-resistant, non-combustible insulation.
- Product documentation including DoP and SDS available from ROCKWOOL.
