Product Overview
Siniat GTEC Fire Board 12.5 mm Tapered Edge (2400 mm × 1200 mm) is a premium fire‑resistant gypsum board engineered to deliver enhanced protection in areas requiring improved fire safety. With a board size of 2400 × 1200 mm and a thickness of 12.5 mm, it offers robust performance for internal wall linings, ceilings and partitions in residential, commercial and public buildings.
Key Features & Benefits
- Euroclass A2‑s1,d0 reaction to fire classification — limited combustibility and very low smoke production
- Complies with BS EN 520:2004 + A1:2009 Types D & F
- High‑density core: stronger, harder and heavier than standard plasterboard — for improved fire and impact performance
- Attractive colour‑coding: pink‑front face for quick identification; grey back face
- Thermal conductivity λ = 0.25 W/mK and thermal resistance R approx 0.050 m²K/W for 12.5 mm thickness
- Moisture content < 2% providing stability in internal dry environments
- Tapered edge (TE) format for ease of joint finishing and seamless wall/ceiling surfaces
- Lightweight sheet size (2400 × 1200 mm) improves handling efficiency and reduces waste
- Suitable for direct decoration or skim‑finishing thanks to smooth face
Applications / Typical Uses
- Ideal for fire‑rated internal partitions, wall linings and ceiling systems where enhanced fire performance is required
- Suitable for use in commercial, residential and institutional buildings, including refurbishment projects
- Frequently used in stud partition systems, lining of shafts, corridors, utility areas and other areas needing up to approx 60 minutes fire resistance
Installation & Handling
- Store boards flat on a dry, level surface and protect from exposure to moisture prior to installation
- Handle carefully to avoid damaging edges and board faces
- Cutting can be achieved using the “score and snap” technique — no power tools are necessary
- Fix with suitable screws: self‑tapping for thin gauge metal, self‑drilling for thicker metal, high‑thread for timber
- Joint and finish using Siniat approved jointing systems; boards should be primed with Siniat Universal Sealer before decoration
Compliance & Certification
- Manufactured to BS EN 520:2004 + A1:2009 Types D & F standard boards
- Reaction to fire: Euroclass A2‑s1,d0
- Meets thermal conductivity and performance values as specified in the manufacturer’s technical datasheet
- When installed as part of a tested Siniat drywall system, can contribute to Approved Document B compliant fire‑rating assemblies
