Kingspan Thermaroof TR27 50 mm Flat Roof PIR Insulation Board (1200 mm × 1200 mm, Pack of 6 – 8.64 m²)
Product Overview
Kingspan Thermaroof TR27 50 mm (1200 mm × 1200 mm) Flat Roof PIR Insulation Board is a high-performance rigid thermoset polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation solution designed for flat roof applications in both new-build and refurbishment projects. Suitable for fully-adhered, mechanically-fixed, or partially-bonded systems, it is fully compatible with single-ply, bituminous, and liquid-applied waterproofing membranes. With a certified thermal conductivity of λ = 0.022 W/m·K, the TR27 range provides excellent thermal performance, while its tough foil facings offer long-term durability and moisture resistance. The 50 mm board thickness is ideal for achieving high insulation performance within typical warm-roof build-ups.
Key Features & Benefits
- High-performance PIR core offering a low thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/m·K for efficient thermal insulation.
- Durable low-emissivity foil facings improve overall thermal performance and moisture resistance.
- Suitable for fully-adhered, mechanically-fixed, and partially-bonded roof build-ups.
- Large 1200 mm × 1200 mm board size reduces installation time and simplifies coverage over larger flat roof areas.
- High compressive strength (≥150 kPa at 10% compression) provides stability under foot traffic and membrane systems.
- 50 mm thickness supports warm-roof insulation performance while maintaining manageable build-up height.
- Stable PIR core delivers consistent, long-term thermal performance throughout the service life of the roof.
- Manufactured under ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 certified quality, environmental, safety, and energy management systems.
Applications / Typical Uses
- Suitable for insulating flat warm-roof systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
- Designed for use beneath single-ply, bituminous, and liquid-applied waterproofing membranes.
- Ideal for both new-build and refurbishment roof projects requiring dependable thermal performance.
- Can be installed over timber, metal, or concrete decks, with appropriate vapour control measures.
- Especially useful where a balanced insulation performance and manageable board thickness are required.
Installation & Handling
- Store insulation boards flat, in a dry and weather-protected area prior to installation.
- Do not use boards that are wet or physically damaged.
- Lay boards tightly-butted with staggered joints to maintain continuity of thermal insulation.
- Fix using mechanical fasteners or an approved adhesive system, depending on deck and membrane specification.
- Ensure an appropriate vapour control layer is installed beneath the boards where required.
- Apply waterproofing membranes in accordance with the roofing system manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Maintain insulation continuity at edges, upstands, penetrations, and parapets to reduce thermal bridging.
- Cut with a sharp utility knife or fine-tooth saw, taking care to avoid damaging foil facings.
Compliance & Certification
- Manufactured to BS EN 13165:2012 + A2:2016 for rigid PIR insulation boards.
- Declared thermal conductivity: λ = 0.022 W/m·K.
