Kingspan Thermaroof TR26 50 mm Flat Roof PIR Insulation Board (2400 mm × 1200 mm, Pack of 6 - 17.28 m²)
Product Overview
Kingspan Thermaroof TR26 50 mm (2400 mm × 1200 mm) Flat Roof PIR Insulation Board is a high‑performance rigid thermoset polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation board, designed specifically for flat roof applications (new‑build or refurbishment) with mechanically‑fixed single‑ply or similar waterproofing systems. With its large board size and excellent thermal performance (λ = 0.022 W/m·K) it provides a dependable insulation layer for flat‑roof systems while being compatible with fast‑track build programmes.
Key Features & Benefits
- High‑performance rigid PIR core with declared thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/m·K across the range.
- Large format board size 2400 × 1200 mm reduces number of joints and improves installation efficiency.
- Compatible with most mechanically‑fixed single‑ply waterproofing systems and green roof systems.
- Facings: low‑emissivity composite foil facings on both sides to resist water‑vapour passage and improve performance stability.
- Excellent compressive strength (CS (10Y)150) indicating strong mechanical stability under load.
- Thin build‑up (50 mm) allows insulation upgrade or refurbishment where roof height is constrained.
- Manufactured under accredited ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001 management systems, ensuring consistent quality and environmental responsibility.
Applications / Typical Uses
- Ideal for structural flat roof insulation in residential, commercial, industrial and public buildings where height is limited and high performance is required.
- Particularly suited for use beneath mechanically‑fixed single‑ply waterproofing membranes in warm‑roof systems.
- Suitable for both new‑build and refurbishment flat roof projects where board size and minimal build‑up matter.
- Appropriate for use over concrete decks, metal decks or timber decks (subject to correct detailing and waterproofing system).
Installation & Handling
- Store the insulation boards flat on a clean, dry, level surface and protect from exposure to weather or site water before installation.
- Do not use boards that have been allowed to get wet or become damaged.
- Lay the boards in a “break‑bonded” (i.e., staggered joints) pattern, with joints lightly butted and no gap between boards.
- The boards may be mechanically fixed or adhered (depending on deck type and waterproofing system specification) through the vapour control layer / sealed deck.
- Ensure installation over a suitable vapour control layer or sealed deck; a condensation risk analysis should be carried out for each roof build‑up.
- After insulation laying, apply the waterproofing membrane in accordance with the membrane manufacturer’s instructions. The board is compatible with mechanically‑fixed single‑ply systems.
- Provide continuity of insulation at parapets, upstands and penetrations to minimise thermal bridging and ensure system integrity.
- Because the format is large (2400 × 1200 mm) and thickness relatively thin (50 mm), handle carefully to avoid damage to board edges or facings during transport and installation.
Compliance & Certification
- Conforms to BS EN 13165:2012 + A2:2016 for factory‑made rigid PIR insulation boards.
- Declared thermal conductivity λₙ = 0.022 W/m·K.
- Reaction to fire classification: Euroclass F under System 4 AVCP.
- UK Declaration of Performance (DoP) available for these boards (DoP issue number 008) detailing essential product characteristics and performance.
- Certified under third‑party approval certificate British Board of Agrément (BBA) Certificate No. 16/5332 for TR26 range, covering use with mechanically‑fixed single‑ply systems.
- Produced under ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environment), ISO 45001 (Health & Safety), and ISO 50001 (Energy Management) certified systems.
